About Dr. Surratt

Jason Surratt, DPM, is a board-certified podiatric physician and surgeon with Clear Choice Dermatology, seeing patients at the Salem location. His interest in podiatry began during his time at Colorado State University, where he witnessed a teammate receive care from a team podiatrist. As a former competitive collegiate distance runner, Dr. Surratt developed a particular interest in sports medicine, running mechanics, and the relationship between foot and ankle health and athletic performance.

Dr. Surratt earned his undergraduate degree from Colorado State University before graduating with honors from the California College of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed a comprehensive podiatric medical and surgical residency at Legacy/Kaiser Portland Hospitals in Portland, Oregon. He is board-certified in foot surgery and has been recognized four times as a “Top Doc” by Portland Monthly.

Following his training, Dr. Surratt founded Westside Foot & Ankle Specialists, which grew into a multi-location practice with 12 foot and ankle specialists, three physical therapists, and a wound care registered nurse before rebranding as Northwest Extremity Specialists. Through his extensive clinical experience, he has developed expertise in both surgical and dermatologic conditions of the foot and ankle. His areas of practice include ganglion cyst drainage, fungal nail diagnosis and treatment, including nail biopsies, ingrown nail avulsions and matrixectomies, verrucae (warts) and Panacos procedures, nail bed and nail matrix biopsies, skin biopsies, foreign body excisions, and surgical management of foot deformities. He also specializes in sports medicine and running mechanics of the foot and ankle.

Dr. Surratt brings both extensive clinical expertise and firsthand athletic experience to his practice, allowing him to understand the unique needs of active patients. Outside of medicine, he enjoys cycling, archery, distance swimming (including completing the Alcatraz Swim for his 40th birthday), and traveling with his family.
