Basal Cell Carcinoma
The most common form of skin cancer, slow-growing and highly treatable, especially when caught early.
About the Condition
BCC often appears as a pearly bump, a flat scaly patch, or a sore that won't heal, usually on sun-exposed skin. It rarely spreads, but grows locally if untreated.

Symptoms To Watch For
A pearly or waxy bump · a flat, flesh-colored or brown scar-like lesion · a bleeding or scabbing sore that heals and returns.
Outlook: BCC has an excellent cure rate, especially with Mohs surgery, the highest cure rate of any skin cancer treatment.
How We Treat It
Mohs Surgery
Gold-standard for most facial/high-risk BCCs.
Excision
Standard surgical removal with margin.
SRT
Non-surgical option for select cases.
Electrodessication & Curettage
For low-risk, superficial BCCs.
