About Dr. Yuan

Dr. Jerry Yuan, DO, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist whose career spans more than 18 years of leadership and clinical service in the United States Navy, including family medicine, military medical leadership, and dermatology. He currently sees patients at Clear Choice Dermatology’s Silverdale/Mickelberry location. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, before receiving his Doctor of Osteopathy from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California.

Dr. Yuan began his medical career with a family medicine internship at Naval Hospital Pensacola. He then served in primary care for Marine battalions at Camp Lejeune before deploying to Helmand Province, Afghanistan, where he led medical care for more than 3,000 service members while also providing medical outreach to local Afghan communities. He later served as Group Medical Officer for Maritime Expeditionary Security Group Two, overseeing medical care for more than 2,800 Sailors across Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Djibouti, and Bahrain.

Following his military leadership and primary care experience, Dr. Yuan completed his dermatology residency through the National Capital Consortium in Bethesda, Maryland. He subsequently established a new dermatology clinic at Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point and went on to practice general, procedural, and cosmetic dermatology at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune. He later served as the sole Navy dermatologist in the European theater at Naval Hospital Rota in Spain, where he cared for thousands of active-duty service members, dependents, and retirees.

Throughout his career, Dr. Yuan has remained dedicated to medical education and dermatologic leadership. He served as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Dermatology Specialty Leader for Navy Medicine, and a board member of the Association of Military Dermatologists. Today, he brings his extensive military, leadership, and dermatologic experience to Clear Choice Dermatology, where he is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to the Silverdale community.
