About Dr. Dang

Luke Dang, MD, PhD, is a board-certified dermatopathologist with Clear Choice Dermatology, specializing in the precise, accurate diagnosis of skin conditions to support optimal dermatologic care throughout the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Dang earned his undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis before completing combined MD and PhD training in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Washington. He completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of California, Davis, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by fellowship training in Dermatopathology at the University of Washington.

Dr. Dang’s clinical expertise is complemented by a strong background in translational research and a longstanding interest in the molecular mechanisms underlying disease. His research began during his undergraduate studies, where he investigated the molecular mechanisms of von Willebrand factor multimerization. During his graduate training at the University of Washington’s Institute for Protein Design, under the mentorship of Dr. David Baker, 2024 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, he studied protein structure and function and used computational protein design to develop highly specific binders targeting Frizzled receptors involved in the Wnt signaling pathway. During his pathology residency, Dr. Dang continued to publish research spanning dermatopathology, clinical chemistry, and machine learning. His work has appeared in leading scientific journals, including Nature, PNAS, Nature Structural & Molecular Biology, Cell Stem Cell, and the Journal of Biological Chemistry, and he is an inventor on patents arising from his graduate research. He is also a member of the American Society of Dermatopathology. Dr. Dang applies his deep scientific background and diagnostic expertise to help Clear Choice Dermatology's clinical teams deliver accurate, evidence-based skin pathology diagnoses for every patient.
