About Rachel

Rachel Knox, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner with Clear Choice Dermatology, seeing patients at The Dalles, Oregon, and Klickitat Valley Health (KVH), Washington, locations. She brings a diverse clinical background spanning dermatology, plastic surgery, and critical care, along with a strong commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care.

Rachel earned her Bachelor of Science in Sports Psychology from West Virginia University before completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of New England, where she graduated magna cum laude. She went on to earn her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, graduating with a 3.95 GPA. Her broad clinical experience includes working as a registered nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit and Cardiac ICU at Central Maine Medical Center, where she provided advanced post-surgical and critical care.

Her passion for dermatology led Rachel to pursue hands-on experience in Mohs surgery and plastic surgery, where she developed expertise in supporting skin cancer treatment, biopsies, wound care, surgical procedures, and patient education. She has further strengthened her dermatologic knowledge by completing the American Academy of Dermatology’s Basic Dermatology Course.

Rachel is also actively involved in research, advocacy, and community outreach. She has been published in the Journal of Sports Psychology in Action, contributed to dermatology policy initiatives, and volunteered with the American Academy of Dermatology’s Camp Discovery. Patients at The Dalles and Klickitat Valley Health clinics can expect thorough, compassionate care from a provider who draws on a broad clinical background to support their skin health.

Outside of clinical practice, she enjoys developing patient education materials, participating in dermatology outreach programs, and supporting military charities through collaborative projects.
